To our Paradise Oaks Family:
We hope everyone is enjoying their summer and hope that the “dog days” are making you think longingly of your return to Paradise Oaks and great friends! Greg and I have delayed this communication to this point in hopes that we would be able to provide a significant and accurate update on our “summer” projects but, unfortunately, time does not seem to be on our side this summer.
This March when we announced our plans for several large construction projects we knew the challenges that we would likely encounter throughout the design, permitting and building process. Unfortunately, too a high degree, these challenges have played out just like the headlines you hear or read about in the daily news… pandemic, construction boom, labor shortages, materials shortages. Each of these had played into to the following “lack” of progress report.
Construction of Big Projects:
Good News – All projects including: New home sites, new pool, beautiful new pool house, Pavilion restrooms, new 2 lane road to Walker Rd and new storage area continue to progress at various stages of design and permitting.
Not So Good News – Progress has been painfully slow. No beginning or end dates of these projects are available at this time.
Good News – already completed is the fencing needed for the new 30+/- acres we now call “the Meadows” (pasture area to the north of the N sites). Over the next few weeks a walking trail and landscaping will be installed in this new area increasing our total accessible green space at Paradise Oaks to close to 50acres!! Already completed and open for use is the golf putting green and game field!
Not So Good News: additional Pickle-ball courts and shuffleboard courts have been pushed to next summer.
Good News… we have decided to power wash concrete for all RV sites. This work should begin in September and be completed in time for arrivals. For annuals, the office will communicate the schedule of your site so you can have site cleared.
Not So Good News… clean and beautiful ain’t cheap!
So, this is our belated progress report… the good and not so good! We continue to push our engineers and resources each week and we believe we can see “the light” (train?). With this, we recommend packing your hard hat for the season, our bonus activity will be “watching dirt turn”.
We leave you with this, the park has never looked more beautiful! We are planning an outstanding season of fun, with all of your favorite activities, new activities, exciting and new entertainment, new amenities, 30+ new acres to roam, enrichment opportunities, and so much more. So, continue to rest up for another memorable season at Paradise Oaks!
